COVID-19 UPDATE
The health and safety of our practice members
and team members is a priority
COVID-19 Screening
All practice members, visitors and staff must answer NO to ALL of the following questions to be allowed to enter our office:
- Are you presenting with fever, new onset of cough, worsening chronic cough, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing?
- Did you have close contact with anyone with acute respiratory illness or travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days?
- Do you have a confirmed case of COVID-19 or had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19?
- Do you have two (2) or more of the following symptoms: sore throat, runny nose/sneezing, nasal congestion, hoarse voice, difficulty swallowing, decrease or loss of sense of smell, chills, headaches, unexplained fatigue/malaise, diarrhea, abdominal pain, or nausea/vomiting?
- If the person is over 65 years of age, are they experiencing any of the following: delirium, falls, acute functional decline, or worsening of chronic conditions?
If YES is answered to ANY of these questions, they should be advised to:
- not attend in person at the member’s office for at least 14 days;
- complete the Ontario Government’s self-assessment; and
- contact an appropriate authority such as their family physician, local medical officer of health or Telehealth Ontario.
Changes Made
- Scheduling appointments to limit the number of people in our office and reception area
- Reduced operating hours
- New sign in procedures:
- Upon arrival, please call us from your car
- Brief screening will be performed over the phone
- Text message will be sent to you when it’s your turn to come into the office
- If you don’t have access to a phone, please let us know at the time of scheduling and we will let you know what to do
- Please sanitize your hands when you enter the office
- Removing and spacing seats in reception area at least 2 metres apart from others.
- Removing non-essential items such as books and magazines
- All staff and doctors will be wearing a surgical/procedural mask to protect those around them
- Restricting visitors and limiting workplace entry to only practice members and staff
- Using visual cues such as tape on the floor to enhance physical distancing in reception area
- Easy access to soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer
- Frequent cleaning and disinfecting of washroom facilities
- Posting signage on hygiene so everyone can understand how to do their part respecting hygiene practices
- Every adjusting/examination room will be sanitized before you enter (e.g. chiropractic table, headrest paper, equipment)
- Frequent sanitizing of commonly touched surfaces or areas
- Installed clear barrier between front desk staff and practice members
- Cashless transactions
- Paperless office (e. g. statements and documents will be e-mailed)
